Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

The Peace Memorial Park and Museum are located in downtown Hiroshima and are in memory of those killed and injured during the dropping of the atomic bomb.  We weren't sure how we would feel about the museum and its contents, but it was a very solemn experience. It was interesting to see something so devastating, from the perspective of another country.

Fletcher Goes Snowboarding

Jesse really loves to snowboard. I really love to sit in the lodge and watch people fall down.  We decided to drive to the closest ski lodge, which is actually really nice, so Jesse could snowboard and Fletcher could experience his first real snow.  Ever taken a baby on a trip to play in snow? It requires an obscene amount of planning and packing.  All those lists, double checking the bags, and loading up the car, and the kid hates snow. Looking back, I'm thinking I had him overdressed. Perhaps it wasn't the snow he hated, but rather the 4 layers I had him wrapped up in. Oopsies.  I tolerated his crying for about 15 minutes, then we headed inside and hung in the lodge until Jesse got his fill of snow. The resort and lodge were really nice so we quite enjoyed our day. It was a win for everyone!
