28 Weeks & A Visit To Yuma, AZ

Friday was the 28 week mark (yay!), but unfortunately I had a 7am appointment at the lab for my glucose screening. I had my first glucose screening at 27 weeks, but since I failed by a measly 3 points I had to go back a week later for the 3 hour long test. The lab was packed with active duty in uniform, so despite getting there at 7am, I wasn't actually seen until 7:45am. I couldn't help but think about how nice an extra 45 minutes of sleep would have been :-), especially since they made me fast and I was STARVING. Instead of getting a cup with a small sample of sugary goodness, they gave me the entire bottle.
Yum!

Four hours and four blood draws later(owie), I was finally out of there.

I headed home to pack and grab Derby so we could head to Yuma. Jesse flew to Yuma on DET earlier that morning, so the plan was to meet him there and spend some time with Josh and Jen. Fortunately, both Josh and Jesse had off Friday night and all day Saturday, so we were able to explore the town, attend a street fair, and take the dogs for a walk.
Jesse has wanted one of these things since we moved to San Diego. I splurged and treated him ha.

Boarder Patrol made me stop on my drive home and Derby was NOT happy about it. I assume it's because I'm pregnant. I've been pulled over a lot driving back and forth to see Jesse on weekends, and she has always been really friendly to police officers (I think she's my 'get out of a speeding ticket' card). But ever since I got pregnant, she doesn't really let strangers come near me. When the boarder patrol officer came up to the car, Derby practically jumped through the driver window and smushed her body against me. She didn't really give me a chance to hand over my license, and I couldn't answer any of the officer's questions due to her big fat belly pressed against my face. He ended up telling me to just drive away. I guess he figured pregnant women don't smuggle drugs, and the Focus doesn't have much hiding room for immigrants.
