Fletcher Preps For Christmas

What happens when you send a few thousand Americans to a country that doesn't produce Christmas trees?  They get flown in from Washington and sell out the day after Thanksgiving! Fletcher and I bought our tree the Monday after Thanksgiving while Jesse was at work. It was quite comical. They had a large tent set up behind the Exchange, and there were 5 trees remaining when we arrived.  There was no one working inside the tent, which made the transaction challenging. I grabbed the price tag off of the tree Fletcher picked, walked allllllll the way back into the exchange (Fletcher on my hip), paid, walked alllllll the way back to the tent, and then stood there trying to figure out my plan of action.  While I'm certainly not an advocate of leaving your child in the car unattended, there are certain situations that make it somewhat of a requirement.  On base, however, PMO will arrest you in an instant, and I've heard horror stories of moms being arrested for seemingly silly reasons.  So I loaded Fletcher back into the car, parked the mighty Toppo right in front of the tree tent, put Fletcher back on my hip, grabbed the tree by the stump, and drug it back to the Toppo....loaded Fletcher in the car, and then shoved the tree in the back (it never crossed my mind that the tree might not fit. It took some shoving).  Dragging the tree into the house and up the steps was also fun.  I think most of the needles fell off.  I must admit I was pretty proud of myself for conquering something that would have been so much more simple without a child in tote. Fletcher LOVES the tree. He uses the branches to pull himself up, grabs at all of the ornaments, and tries to open the presents.  This will all remain cute until he begins breaking things :)
